Course Description: TE 802, TE 803 and TE 804, were taken as part of my internship year coursework. TE 802 was a course based on inquiry and teaching experience. The content area of focus was literacy. I explored essential questions as I reflected on my teaching practices. In doing this I was able to truly understand the importance of literacy within the realm of education. There were five main inquiries that were explored to aid in my true understanding. I worked with my fellow colleagues in an open and honest learning environment. As a final activity for the course, I worked on developing and implementing a literacy unit in the primary classroom which was to be taught during the internship year.

Course Description: TE 803 was centered around the content area of social studies. I focused on meeting the needs of all students while recognizing each child as a diverse and individual learner. One key component of the course was composing a unit which was to be taught in an elementary classroom during the internship year. The purpose of the unit was to foster a deeper understanding of current events. This was done in order to provide students with more awareness of the happenings in the world around them.

Course Description: Methods of science and inquiry were explored in TE 804. The needs and purposes for authentic student assessment were briefly examined and discussed as well. For the final project, a sample science investigation was preformed in front of fellow colleagues. In doing this activity I had an opportunity to gain feedback on my knowledge of key science procedures and overall teaching skills. This assignment served as a demonstration of overall learning related to the concepts that were taught in the course.

Course Description: ED 800 was the first course that I enrolled in after being accepted into the online MAED program. This was an introductory level course which served to explore the history of inquiry and education. ED 800 was unique in the sense that it was self-paced. The content of the course served to examine essential questions related to education. I explored domains of educational inquiry throughout this process as well as individuals who have had a direct impact on reforming education. My work included several well planned essays related to hypermedia, books, and films that were studied during the units throughout the semester.

Course Description: CEP 820 was a course taken with my technology concentration in mind. I chose to continue on with my education by participating in online courses through MSU because I have a vested interest in this type of learning. CEP 820 allowed me to go through the process of creating my own online course. There were several steps involved, and feedback was given to guide me throughout the entire experience. Course Description: This course caused me to take part in a thoughtful study of how technology is related to learning and leadership. CEP 815 allowed me to gain knowledge about TPACK (Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge) as well as instrumental vs. missionary thinking. I developed important ideas related to leadership action logic through assignments and activities that were meaningful and varied. My work consisted of lectures, labs, and written assignments. Course Description: As an educator it is vital to be aware of what encompasses the phrase known as the"learning society". This can prove to be a daunting task when considering the many dimensions that make up the field of education today. EAD 860 was a self-paced course in which I examined several domains that helped define the term "learning society". Course Description: Part of being a quality educator requires one to "think outside of the box". This course helped me to become a more creative thinker. I was then able to apply and incorporate my original ideas into my classroom lessons and life experiences. The majority of the work for CEP 818 allowed me to try out new methods and ways of teaching language arts to my group of fifth grade students. Course Description: CEP 882 was a very unique and inspiring course. This course allowed me to study the craft of professionals in various fields that specialize in creating compelling experiences for their audiences. I learned about the work of architects, musicians, photographers, and more. This was done through reading assignments, blog entries, and interaction among classmates within a Facebook group. I was able to create my very own works of art as I applied the new skills that were learned throughout the duration of the semester. My blog for this course can be found below.

Course Description: This final course served to synthesize all of my learning from the MAED program in a clear and coherent manner. EAD 870 allowed me to create an online portfolio of my learning for the entire program. This was done in several manageable steps throughout the semester. With support from fellow classmates and highly experienced instructors, I was able to be very successful in my publishing endeavors.
